Holes at TWGC
All hole yardages are from white tees.
Hole #1 - 300 yards
The first hole is a straight away Par-4, reachable from the tee for long hitters, but beware, errant tee shots will find the trees that line both sides of the fairway making for a difficult approach shot. A small bunker guards the left side of the green and a fairway bunker down the right side comes into play depending on club selection. The fairway slopes right to left and the green slopes back to front. Tricky downhill putts are not uncommon.
Hole #2 - 534 yards
The first of four Par 5's, this is the longest hole on the course. Trees to the left and right of a generous fairway frame the hole. This slight dog-leg left is guarded by a large oak on the left which may come into play on your second shot should you choose to "cut" the corner and come up short. The large, receptive green slopes from back to front.
Hole #3 - 487 yards
The second of back-to-back Par 5's on the front side, this slight dog-leg left features large pines and oak trees on both sides of a sloping right-to-left fairway. Don't be deceived by the yardage, as you are driving up hill normally into a prevailing head wind. A giant oak on the left side of the fairway guards the approach to the green, and requires the player to hit a very precise approach shot. A sharp drop off to the left and a green side bunker to the right add to the challenging approach shot.
Hole #4 - 144 yards
This is the first of three Par-3's on the front nine. You are hitting from an elevated tee to a severely sloped, back to front green. There is a grass bunker to the right of the green and anything just short of the green will roll back down the hill leaving a semi-blind chip shot. Staying below the hole is a must to avoid those quick downhill sliders!
Hole #5 - 348 yards
This is a beautiful straight away Par-4 that plays from an elevated tee, across a valley, to an elevated green. An oak tree guards the left side of the fairway while the large back to front sloping green is bunkered on both sides and there is a steep slope off to the right as well.
Hole #6 - 357 yards
A truly scenic Par-4, this hole is the signature hole at Trails West. The historic Fort Leavenworth Bell Tower stands out as a background to the green. This hole starts from an elevated tee, across a small creek, to an elevated green. The fairway slopes left to right. The Bell Tower is your aiming point from the tee, staying left takes the large pines and oaks that guard the green out of play. Long approach shot may find the out of bounds that is located back and left of this green.
Hole #7 - 140 yards
On this Par-3, you are hitting from an elevated tee, downhill to a large receptive green. The green is sloped from back to front and errant tee shots over the green will likely come up wet. Pars and birdies are common.
Hole #8 - 116 yards
A short, scenic Par-3, the tee shot requires that you carry over open water to a steeply sloped, back-to-front green. There is water to the left of the green and green-side bunkers to the right and behind the hole. Wind direction must always be a consideration.
Hole #9 - 401 yards
This is the #1 handicap hole at Trails West. The Par-4 dog-leg left starts from an elevated tee to an up-sloping right-to-left fairway. Keeping your tee shot on the right side of the fairway provides a good approach shot to a slightly elevated green. Do not be fooled by the distance. Even long hitters are challenged to reach this green in regulation.
Hole #10 - 517 yards
This challenging Par-5 provides an excellent starting hole for the back nine. The dog-leg left starts from an elevated tee box. Long hitters who can carry the corner will maximize the roll of the sloping left to right fairway and provide themselves an opportunity to reach the green in two. Large pines line the right side of the fairway which begins to level out around 100 yards from the green. The generous green is guarded by a large oak on the left and severly sloped hill to the right.
Hole #11 - 203 yards
This Par-3 is the second most difficult hole on the course. A straight away tee shot to a large left to right sloping green, protected on the left by a large oak tree, and a severe slope just off the right side of the green makes accuracy critical. Putts of 30-40 feet are not uncommon.
Hole #12 - 255 yards
This slightly dog-leg left Par-4 is reachable from the tee box. Hitting from an elevated tee provides a perfect view of the green. Two fairway bunkers guard the front, and two green-side bunkers protect the right side of a back-to-front sloped green. This is a common birdie hole. 
Hole #13 - 501 yards
This is a straight away Par-5 with out of bounds to the left the entire length of the hole. Drives are slightly uphill along a generous fairway. Long hitters may be able to carry a paved crossroad, setting up an opportunity to reach the green in two. Approach shots are to a large, elevated, back to front sloped green. There is a bunker short and to the right center of the green.
Hole #14 - 361 yards
This Par-4 dog-leg left begins from an elevated tee box. Driving through a narrow opening between large oak trees requires a long draw past the dog leg or a fade to the right side of the fairway. The approach shot is uphill to an elevated green protected by bunkers on the right and left side. Beware of the false front, as approach shots that come up short will spin back off the green and roll back down the hill. There is also out of bounds to the left and behind the hole.
Hole #15 - 300 yards
A scenic Par-4, players have a good view of the green from an elevated tee-box over a deep valley to a generous landing area. For those enticed to "go for it" the fairway narrows before opening again past the oak trees that line the fairway. The sloping back-to-front green is protected by a series of bunkers on the left as well as bunkers to the right of and behind the green. If your drive is accurate, this can be an excellent birdie opportunity.
Hole #16 - 191 yards
The final Par-3 at Trails West is a straight away tee shot from an elevated tee to a large, receptive green. Out of bounds to the left runs the length of the fairway and oak trees line the right side. Errant tee shots will find a large bunker to the left of the green or a steep slope to the right of the green.
Hole #17 - 357 yards
This is a straight away Par-4 to a wide-sloping, right-to-left fairway. Trees line the right side of the fairway and there is out of bounds to the left. Keeping the ball on the high side of the fairway will set up an excellent approach shot to a large sloping and undulating green. The left side of the green is protected by a grass bunker short and left of the green. There is also a deep sand bunker left of the green, as well as out of bounds to the right of the green. Green undulation makes accurate reads for putts a must.
Hole #18 - 320 yards
The Par-4 finishing hole is a sharp dog-leg left from an elevated tee box. The tee shot must carry a deep valley and out of bounds lurks on the left. There is a generous landing area beyond the valley in which to set up your approach shot to a large elevated green. Long hitters can easily carry the corner and set themselves up for wedge shots into the green. Because of the steep rise to the green, most approach shots are blind.
