The United States Army committed $1.4 billion this fiscal year to improving the quality of life for Soldiers and Families. The following is a list of Fort Leavenworth's initiatives.

ACS Initiatives

  • Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) instituted respite care program, summer camp partnership program with Child and Youth Services, Specialized Training for Military Parents (STOMP) workshop and weekend bowling program
  • Family Advocacy Program partners with the Alliance Against Family Violence Center to provide advocacy and shelter support for Families experiencing domestic conflicts.
  • Right sizing of Army Community Service program resulting in 90% staffing
  • Establishment of the SFAC (Soldier and Family Assistance Center) program
  • Expand new parent support services
  • Establish Army Integrated Family Support Network
  • Develop and train mobile assistance teams
  • Expanded Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program

    Recreation Initiatives

  • Expanded hours of operation at Gruber Fitness Center
  • Goal oriented sports program for Wounded Warriors

    Child and Youth Initiatives

  • Free CYS registration fees
  • Free hourly or STACC care during mandatory deployment meetings

  • Discounted hourly care beyond the free Respite Care
  • Unlimited free hourly care for medical appointments
  • Free hourly group care for attendees of memorial service for Fallen Soldier
