The following are accomplishments as of January 31, 2009
FMWR-Army Community Service
The Army Community Service highlights of new or expanded services
are:
Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) instituted respite care
program, summer Camp Soar partnership program with Child, Youth and
School Services, Specialized Training for Military Parents (STOMP)
workshop and monthly weekend bowling program
Provided $133,574 in Respite Care to Families with Exceptional Family
Members
Family Advocacy Program partners with the Alliance Against Family
Violence Center to provide advocacy and shelter support for Families
experiencing domestic conflicts
Right sizing of Army Community Service program resulting in 90% staffing
Expand new parent support services
Expanded sexual assault and prevention and response program
Conducted Survivor Outreach Services Forum
FMWR-Business Division
Business Division highlights of new or expanded services are:
Coach it Up program is a partnership between the on post school and
CYS Services
Hearts Apart program which offers free bowling once or twice a year
(30-50 kids) for children of deployed parents
Youth Bowling Pass offers two games of free bowling per day
(Monday-Friday) to students
Parent/Child Mondays at the golf course offers free play for children
when they are accompanied by an adult
Junior golf clinics
Free ladies clinic
Free greens fees with the rental of a cart for WITs.
FMWR-Child, Youth and School Services
Child, Youth and School Services highlights of new or expanded services are:
5269 hours of free child care provided
1800 hours of reduced rate hourly care provided
3199 children registered with no registration fee
Reduced full day fees for a total savings of $28,864
4 children of Wounded Warriors placed in Tier 1 Cat1 with a savings to the Family of $4,879
755 free SKIES classes were given saving Families $43,398
139 free Youth Sports registrations were given saving Families $3,697
Renovation of School Aged Services building resulting in an increase of 40 child care spaces
Middle School/Teen Program received $61K to upgrade Underground Teen Lounge
Free hourly and STACC care during mandatory deployment meetings
Free hourly and STACC care for Family Readiness Group meetings
Unlimited free hourly care for medical appointments for Wounded Warriors
Free hourly group care for attendees of memorial service for fallen Soldier
Expand child care hours to include one Saturday per month
Update training materials for School Liaison Officer
Expand youth programs to mitigate deployment stress
Expand homework/tutoring support
Provide tech labs to facilitate communication with deployed parents
FMWR-Community Recreation Division
Community Recreation Division highlights of new or expanded services are:
Expanded hours of operation to better meet the needs of our patrons.
Specialized fitness equipment for Warriors in Transition
Free open and lap swim to all ID card holders
Partnership with Leavenworth Parks and Recreation program to provide joint sports programs
deployment support grant $5k
Goal Oriented sports program for Wounded Warriors
Outdoor Recreational Rental program start up costs ($120k)
Reduced swim at outdoor pools
-- free swim for Private thru Specialist and Family members of deployed Soldiers
Arrange commercial entertainment for returning Soldiers
